Ribbon Murukku

One of the most famous savoury snacks in Tamil Nadu - ribbon murukku makes a perfect tea time snack. Try this Indian snack recipe at home and make tea time with your friends or family delicious and fun.

Serves: 4

Cooking time: 45 min

Ingredients

  • Rice flour - 2 cups
  • Gram flour - 1 cup
  • Pepper powder - ½ tsp
  • Aashirvaad Svasti Pure Cow Ghee - 3 tbsp
  • Asafoetida - ¼ tsp
  • Salt - 1/2 tsp
  • Sesame seeds: 1 tsp
  • Water as needed to make dough
  • Oil For deep frying

Preparation

  • In a bowl, mix rice flour, gram flour, pepper powder, sesame seeds, salt, asafoetida and Aashirvaad Svasti Ghee.
  • Add water as required to make a stiff non sticky dough.
  • Take a ribbon murukku mould and keep a ball of dough in the press.
  • Use the press directly over hot oil and fry till golden.
  • Enjoy ribbon murukku with a hot cup of tea/coffee
