Badusha

Enjoy the festive season with this delicious sweet made using Aashirvaad Svasti Pure Cow Ghee.

Serves: 4

Cooking time: 45 min

Ingredients

  • Maida - 2 cups
  • Baking soda - ¼ tsp
  • Aashirvaad Svasti Pure Cow Ghee - ¼ cup
  • Curd - 2tbsp
  • Water to make dough
  • Aashirvaad Svasti Pure Cow Ghee to fry
  • Almond/Pista to garnish
  • Sugar & Water – 1 cup each (Sugar syrup)
  • Lemon – 1 tsp
  • Saffron – few strands

Preparation

  • Beat the ghee, curd and baking soda together to get a smooth texture.
  • Add this mixture to the flour and mix to form a bread crumb consistency.
  • Make the dough into equal lemon sized balls. Now flatten these balls and make a dent in the center.
  • For the sugar syrup, combine sugar and water and allow it to boil till it forms a one string consistency. Add lemon juice and saffron.
  • Now heat Aashirvaad Svasti Pure Cow Ghee in a kadai and add the Badusha one by one. Use low heat and ensure thorough cooking.
  • Fry till the Badusha is floating and turns golden brown.
  • Soak the fried Badusha in the warm sugar syrup.
  • Take out of the syrup and serve the Badushas garnished with almonds or pista.
